Iranian-born tycoon Kia Joorabchian, who is linked with a possible takeover at West Ham, has received backing for any future football projects. Israeli businessman Eli Papoushado, who made his money through property and hotels, says he is willing to go into partnership with Joorabchian,
"Mr Joorabchian has spoken to me about leading a consortium of investors in football projects," said Papoushado.
"I have agreed if he decides to go forward with any such project."
Joorabchian helped West Ham sign Argentine Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.
It is thought he would need to raise 100m to try and buy the club, 70m for shares and 30m to clear debts.
But Papoushado gave no hint a bid for West Ham was imminent.
"I would like to confirm that I will not be taking part in any management but will be solely an investor," said Papoushado.
"This statement does not suggest that there will or will not be a project in the near future, just a clarification of reports about my involvement as a potential investor with Mr Kia Joorabchian."
