West Ham have signed defender Calum Davenport on loan, just 10 days after Spurs signed him from Coventry for 3m. Spurs are keen for the 21-year-old to play regular first-team football as he would struggle to get in their side.
Spurs sporting director Frank Arnesen said: "It was important that Calum went on loan to a club where he would get first-team football.
"It had to be a London-based club so he would not have to relocate and can train with us on an occasional basis."
The move is certain to infuriate Coventry, who had asked Spurs if they could take Davenport back on loan for the rest of the season.
"Once they have bought him he is their player, but we won't be happy if Calum goes on loan somewhere else," Sky Blues chairman Mike McGinnity said last week.
