Roeder is under pressure at Upton Park |
West Ham's troubled season took another lurch in the wrong direction this week when it was revealed that manager Glenn Roeder had been involved in a furious row with defender Gary Breen. Roeder clashed with the Republic of Ireland international after Breen questioned the set-up at West Ham.
Breen had allegedly claimed his excellent performance for his country against Scotland, in comparison with his poor club form, was down to "organisation".
The claim sparked a heated row in the manager's office, although Breen later shrugged the clash off as a "conversation".

A number of players were reported to have heard the angry exchange. Breen has not featured in the first team since West Ham's 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester United in the FA Cup.
He had previously been a regular in the side and is believed to have been upset at being made a scapegoat for the Old Trafford defeat.
The row was the culmination of a series of setbacks at West Ham.
The Mirror newspaper claims new signings Les Ferdinand and Rufus Brevett have suggested the training routine is not tough enough.
Even the players' diet was criticised as a regime of "chips with everything".
But the heated exchange between Breen and Roeder is believed to have cleared the air.
The pair, good friends off the pitch, appeared much closer on the training ground following their exchange.
