Strike pair make West Brom exit

Sherjill MacDonald
Dutchman MacDonald has struggled to make an impact at the Hawthorns

West Brom have sent striker Sherjill MacDonald out on loan to Belgian club Roeselare, while Polish forward Bartosz Slusarski has been released.

MacDonald, 24, has made only six appearances off the bench this season, the last against Hull in October.

The Dutchman will spend the rest of the season in the Belgian First Division to gain further experience.

Slusarski, 27, made a single appearance in 17 months at the Hawthorns and is returning to Poland to find a club.

He has enjoyed moderately successful loan spells at Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday but never really threatened to break into Tony Mowbray's first-team plans.

The two departures leave Mowbray with four strikers to choose from - Luke Moore, Roman Bednar, Craig Beattie and loan signing Jay Simpson.

Ishmael Miller will miss the rest of the season after surgery on a knee injury.
