West Brom defender Gianni Zuiverloon says playing in the Premier League has thrown up few surprises for him so far.
The Dutch Under-21 international signed from Heerenveen in the summer and has adjusted well to his new surrounds.
"I think it is what I expected. The pace is high, there's a lot of physical play, a lot of headers. I love it," Zuiverloon told BBC WM.
"I'm finding it really good here. I think the first few games went very well, then I had a little dip."
The 21-year-old's loss of form coincided with a testing run of fixtures, including trips to Manchester United and Liverpool and the home game with Chelsea.
"I had a few injuries, but it's going well now. I'm training well and I feel good again," Zuiverloon noted.
This weekend the Dutchman is looking forward to rubbing shoulders with two of his compatriots as the Baggies visit Wigan Athletic.
"Mario Melchiot and Daniel De Ridder - I know Daniel from the Under-21's and Melchiot I've met a few times," he said.
"It's always good to see Dutch guys and guys that you know so it's going to be fun."
It will, of course, be more fun for West Brom if they break a run of seven games without a win in the Premier League when they visit the JJB Stadium.
"It's going to be a very, important game for us, and we need to win, but we can't afford to lose either," Zuiverloon said.
"I think we need to go for the win, and if after 85 minutes it's not possible for us then close everything down to not lose the game."
