West Brom midfielder Robert Koren says playing for the team is a joy and has paid tribute to the "brilliant" atmosphere at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies lead the Championship and are on course for a swashbuckling return to the top flight.

Slovenian Koren told BBC WM: "Our manager and coaches are brilliant. We are all enjoying training.

"We just need to keep going. Even off the pitch the atmosphere is great and we try to take that in to games."

Albion have earned a reputation for free-flowing football and are comfortably the Football League's highest scorers with 62 goals.

It's much easier to be on the field than watching

"We're all training really hard and the coaches are doing a great job preparing us," Koren added.

The 27-year-old, who has scored seven goals so far, has had to take his turn to sit out the occasional game as part of Tony Mowbray's rotation policy.

"Of course you want to play every game but for me it's not really a problem. I just want to do a great job.

"It's much easier to be on the field than watching - especially if things aren't going the right way."
