Greening has one year remaining on his current Baggies deal

The ex-Manchester United player has one year left on his current deal and wants to stay, despite the Baggies missing out on promotion to the Premiership.

"I would be happy to sign a new deal as long as the chairman and the manager want me," said the 28-year-old.

"Everyone likes playing for the manager Tony Mowbray, with the way he plays and the football he plays and it would suit me down to the ground."

There are fears the likes of Curtis Davies, Jason Koumas and Diomansy Kamara could leave after the Baggies lost 1-0 to Derby in Monday's Championship play-off final at Wembley.

But Greening is content to remain if he is part of Mowbray's plans.

Meanwhile, defender Paul Robinson has admitted he wants to play Premiership football but has pledged to try to help the club earn promotion next season.

He said: "Will I be at Albion next season? That is a big question but I am still a West Brom player.

"I am signed up here for the next two years so I will get my head down and work hard.

"But I want to play Premiership football and sometimes you can't take that away from players if the opportunity comes up.

"As far as I am concerned, I've got another two years at West Brom and I'll be getting my head down and working hard and trying to get the club promoted next year."
