Curbishley seems intent on waiting for the right job at the right club |
Alan Curbishley is not interested in taking over as manager of West Brom, BBC Sport understands. The Baggies decided to call time on Bryan Robson's tenure as boss on Monday and Curbishley quickly emerged as a favourite for the post.
But, even though Curbishley is ready for a return to football after leaving Charlton in May, The Hawthorns is not his preferred destination.
The 48-year-old will instead hold out for a Premiership managerial position.
Curbishley was adamant he wanted to take a six-month sabbatical from the game after he left the Addicks following 15 years in charge at The Valley.

He also decided on a break after missing out on to Steve McClaren in the race to become England manager.
Curbishley had been linked with the Aston Villa and Sunderland posts during the summer but the jobs were taken by Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane respectively.
He had decided on a break after 15 years in charge at Charlton while also missing out on to Steve McClaren in the race to become England manager.
Curbishley recently stated he was again in the market to step back into football management in October and that he would not rule out a move to a Championship club.
But it appears he does not feel West Brom is the right job with a top-flight job the priority unless the club and opportunity is too tempting to turn down.
