Baggies boss Bryan Robson has high hopes for Chaplow |
West Brom midfielder Richard Chaplow has completed his switch to Southampton on a three-month loan deal. Chaplow, 21, joined the Baggies from Burnley for 1.5m but has joined Saints to gain first-team football after struggling to break in at Albion.
He told Saints website: "I want to get back to playing regularly and this is a good opportunity for me."
Saints boss George Burley said: "He likes to get forward and score goals and I'm pleased to have got him."
Chaplow had made just four Premiership starts for Albion this season.
West Brom boss Bryan Robson said: "Chappy hasn't really got the experience at the moment for me to play him in Premiership games. But I do think he is going to develop into a very good player.
"Going to Southampton and playing first-team football is part of his development. Hopefully, he'll come back a better player."
