West Brom goalkeeper Chris Kirkland
has been ruled out for a further two weeks with a bruised kidney. He had hoped to return against Everton on Sunday after being injured in the 2-0 defeat at Bolton in October.
But assistant manager Nigel Pearson told the club website said: "It's quite a serious injury which can be very dangerous if you ignore it.
"And with a goalkeeper throwing himself around the risk is even greater. It is frustrating for him."
Pearson added: "I'm aware he's keen to put this tag behind
him of being injury prone, but they have been serious injuries.
"We're disappointed for him because we know how keen is to make a career for himself as a regular goalkeeper."
