West Brom boss Gary Megson says the 2-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest shows his team needs strengthening before tackling the Premiership next season. "We've got to bring in quality over the summer because we haven't got enough of it right through the squad," he said.
"We've done what's been required of us in terms of presenting the powers that be with top-flight football.
"But I'm only an employee and it's now up to my employers to decide in which direction they want to take this club."
Megson added: "Since I've been manager here, it's been about closing the opposition down, very high-tempo football, set-pieces and organisation.
"But when we don't produce those qualities we haven't got enough in reserve to get a win and although we could have won it in the end, that would have masked a lot of problems.
"At half-time I was going spare at them to try and drag a performance out of the players.
"I don't want to keep managing like that any longer, standing on the touchline and screaming, driving them on, and getting upset at half-time simply to get a performance out of them."
