Robert Earnshaw says his 3m move from Cardiff to West Brom fulfils a life-long dream of playing at the top level. "It's always been my ambition to play in the Premiership and I'm absolutely thrilled West Brom are giving me that chance," he told the club's website.
"I'm taking nothing for granted and know that I've got to work hard.
"But I'm looking forward to working with Gary Megson and Frank Burrows, who was one of my first managers at Cardiff," added the Wales striker, 23.
Hawthorns manager Megson said he was delighted to secure his man early on Monday morning after a dispute over image rights threatened to scupper the deal on the weekend.
"It was looking a bit touch and go over the last 48 hours because other agents were trying to get involved and move Robert to other clubs," Megson told the West Brom website.
"This move gives him the opportunity in the Premiership that he's wanted and he now needs to prove himself to his new public. "Hopefully he'll give us something we've maybe not had for a while which is real sharpness up front."
Earnshaw's national manager Mark Hughes has no doubts that the diminutive front-man will do the job for Megson.
"Whenever there have been questions about his ability to perform at a higher level, Earnie has answered them with goals," said Hughes.
"He has scored at international level and that is usually a good indication of how good a player is.
"Earnie will prove that he can score goals in the Premiership, he will score goals in any league."
