Ashikodi broke his leg during a loan spell at Bradford City in 2007

Watford have terminated the contract of striker Moses Ashikodi.

The 21-year-old signed from Rangers in January 2007 and has had loan spells at Bradford, Swindon and Hereford in his two-year stay at Vicarage Road.

He scored on his only ever start for Watford, an FA Cup win over Stockport in the same month he joined.

As he was released before 1700 GMT on deadline day, Ashikodi becomes a free agent and can sign for another club outside the transfer window.
