Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd is optimistic about his side's chances in their Championship play-off home leg despite their recent results.

The Hornets have won just one in their last seven games at Vicarage Road and face Hull who beat them 3-0 in March.

"We never say die and we're going to fight right till the end and anything can happen now," he said.

"We've stuttered, we've limped and we're in. Form goes out of the window in play-offs."

"It's about making sure you hold your nerve and do the job," Boothroyd said.

Looking back on the season Boothroyd said: "We've worked for 46 games, 10 months, over a million seconds and we've finished above some very big teams. And now we've got to make sure we're the team that's standing at the end."

"I'm glad we're home first. We've got to get the place rocking, our fans have got to get behind us, forget what's gone.

"Should we do what we set out to do at the beginning of the season then everyone will forget about the home form because we'll be in the Premiership."
