Mahon began his career at Wolves |
Watford captain Gavin Mahon has signed a two-year contract extension with the Premiership newcomers. The 29-year-old, who joined the Hornets for 150,000 from Brentford in 2002, is looking forward to playing in the top flight under manager Aidy Boothroyd.
Mahon said: "Aidy has been brilliant for us and is another reason why I have so much to look forward to here.
"We had an unbelievable season last year and the lads cannot wait to get started in the Premiership now."
Mahon, who began his career at Wolves and had a spell with Hereford before joining Brentford, added: "I am determined to enjoy the experience.
"But as with any sport you are only happy when you are winning and we will not be going out just to make up the numbers."
