Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore says defender Ryan Shotton could play as a striker after seeing him score in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Scunthorpe.

Eddie Sonko opened the scoring before Stoke City's Shotton netted the fifth goal of his loan spell at Prenton Park.

Moore told BBC Radio Merseyside: "I think he could play up front, he's powerful and strong and gets a goal.

"He's one of those players who can basically play anywhere, he's another Anthony Kay."
