Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore says the 'sharp words' he exchanged with his players at half time were key to beating Crewe 1-0 on Monday night.
A Chris Shuker goal saw Rovers progress into the quarter-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Moore told BBC Radio Merseyside: "The first half was unacceptable, I think we just thought it was going to happen.
"They got lulled into a false sense of security and it needed one or two sharp words in the dressing room."
