Shotton has been allowed to leave to gain first-team experience

Tranmere Rovers have completed the singing of Stoke City defender Ryan Shotton on a one-month loan.

The 19-year-old only made his debut for the Potters in their Carling Cup win over Cheltenham on Tuesday night.

He spent the whole of last season on loan at Blue Square Premier side Altrincham where he scored five goals in 36 appearances.

Shotton is expected to go straight into the Rovers squad for Saturday's match against Northampton.
