Taylor is a product of Blackburn's youth academy and has played for England at Under-19 and Under-20 level.

The 21-year-old has spent time on loan at QPR, Crewe, Blackpool and Huddersfield playing 20 games in total.

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore said: "This is a great signing for the Club. Andy is a talented attacking left back who we've been monitoring for some time."

Taylor is set to make his Rovers debut in Saturday's League One clash with Doncaster and has been given permission to play in the club's FA Cup Round Two game at Bradford City.
