Tranmere want to keep hold of Wales defender Gareth Roberts |
Hull City have had a bid of 50,000 turned down by Tranmere Rovers for Wales defender Gareth Roberts. Tigers left-back Andy Dawson suffered a suspected broken foot during Saturday's 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa.
Hull made an immediate attempt to replace Dawson with Roberts, but the Wirral club have snubbed the bid.
Dawson could be ruled out for up eight weeks, leaving Hull short at left-back after ending Roland Edge's contract just 24 hours before the Villa tie.
