Tottenham have completed the signing of Brazil midfielder Sandro from Internacional after a medical.
The 21-year-old will arrive at White Hart Lane after the Copa Libertadores in South America this summer.
However, the deal is still dependent on the Brazilian - who only has one cap to date - being granted a work permit.
"He is an outstanding young player who we feel has a great future," said Spurs boss Harry Redknapp who first tried to sign Sandro last summer.
"He is a strong and aggressive player who has already played for Brazil and captained their youth side too."
Redknapp added: "The chairman [Daniel Levy] has done a terrific job to make this happen.
"I think there were hard and protracted negotiations so a lot of credit must go to him.
"There are not too many chairmen that would fly half way around the world to get a deal done and he has flown to Brazil twice."
Sandro's sole cap for Brazil to date came in a World Cup qualifier against Chile in September 2009.
