Jol had a great rapport with the Tottenham fans |
Sacked Tottenham boss Martin Jol says he has hopes of returning to manage the club at some point in the future. Jol was replaced by Juande Ramos last week and has since been linked with a return to Holland with PSV Eindhoven.
But he told the Sunday Times: "I still have the feeling that you never know. It's all about opportunities.
"They can say what they like now but in a couple of years I'm not sure the same people will be there on the [Tottenham Hotspur] board."
Jol cited the example of Ottmar Hitzfeld who had two spells in charge of Bayern Munich.

Tottenham legend Jimmy Greaves has also questioned the future of the current Tottenham board.
"They should be in the last-chance saloon," Greaves told BBC 5 Live's Sportsweek.
"If Ramos doesn't do it they should fall on their swords because the fans are great and don't deserve it.
"Why are the board involved at the club? They will say it's passion for the football, others will say otherwise. Somewhere between the two is probably the truth."
Greaves also turned the spotlight on Tottenham's "continental" structure at the club where the head coach identifies areas needing strengthening and sporting director Damien Comolli recruits the players.
"We understand since that Jol wanted to buy one or two players and couldn't do what he wanted," Greaves said. "Now Ramos has got a lot of work to do."

Jol led Tottenham to two straight fifth-placed Premier League finishes but was sacked after a disastrous start to this season.
But he defended his record at White Hart Lane and bemoaned the fact he was not given the same time as Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger.
"Wenger: fourth the last couple of seasons. Did he win something? Not the league since 2004," Jol said.
"Did Arsenal say, 'You have to win a prize or finish third?' No, because he's the man. He can say, 'I need time'."
Jol also had a word of warning for Ramos, saying: "With Ramos they think they can buy success, that they'll now be fourth, but that's business thinking.
"A football man would think: 'But can we be fourth? How easy is that?' Ramos was good at Seville, but can he be good at Spurs? Every club is different."
