Spurs boss Jol has spent 40m on players this summer |
Boss Martin Jol said he felt "rotten" after seeing his expensive Tottenham side slump to a defeat against Everton but believes they will come good. Spurs have spent 40m on players over the summer but began the season with a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland before losing 3-1 at home on Tuesday.
Jol's side were booed at half-time against Everton and he told BBC Sport: "I feel as rotten as I did on Saturday.
"We will do better. It is a kick in the teeth but we will bounce back."
Jol gave England striker Darren Bent his full Spurs debut up front alongside Dimitar Berbatov against Everton, with Robbie Keane on the wing.

But Tottenham managed fewer shots on target than the opposition and their goal came from defender Anthony Gardner.
"The final ball was not good enough and we couldn't create a lot," conceded Jol.
"You can have all the finishing power but if you don't have the loading systems it's difficult."
However, Jol is confident that when all his players are fit, Spurs will recover.
"I feel if everybody is on board we've still got a very talented and good team," he said.
Defenders Michael Dawson, Ledley King and Gareth Bale are injured and Jol saw Younes Kaboul limp off with a hamstring injury in the first half against Everton.
Dawson is expected to return for Saturday's game against Derby at White Hart Lane.
