Ghaly was signed from Dutch side Feyenoord |
Birmingham boss Steve Bruce has made an approach for Tottenham's Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly. The future of Ghaly, 25, at Spurs has been in doubt after he threw down his shirt and stormed off after being substituted against Blackburn in May.
"He's one we have enquired about," said Bruce, who is strengthening his side after their Premier League return.
"He came to my attention a year ago when we had Tottenham in a pre-season friendly in the rain at St Andrews."
Speaking to the Birmingham Post, Bruce added: "It was that game when Dimitar Berbatov played and scored a stunning goal.
"But my eye was caught by Ghaly and we've had him monitored since. As I said, we've made an enquiry but it hasn't gone further - yet."
