Tottenham new boy Gareth Bale did not last the distance in his first outing for the club since joining from Southampton in a deal worth up to �10m. The 17-year-old left-back limped out of the 1-0 win over St Patrick's Athletic in Dublin with nine minutes remaining.
He appeared to have hurt his thigh, but the injury did not look too serious.
Robbie Keane scored the Spurs winner just before the break, and boss Martin Jol gave Bale's fellow new signings Younes Kaboul and Darren Bent starts.
