Lennon has won nine caps for England |
Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon has undergone surgery on his left knee. Lennon, 20, picked up a small cartilage tear during England B's 3-1 victory over Albania at Turf Moor on Friday and had to limp off after just 10 minutes.
Lennon had to withdraw from Steve McClaren's squad for Friday's friendly with Brazil and next Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier with Estonia in Tallinn.
Lennon's absence means the recalled David Beckham is set to start against Brazil at Wembley on Friday.
