Edgar Davids has been told he can still make the Netherlands World Cup squad if he shines for Tottenham this season. The Dutch midfielder has been given the lifeline by national team coach Marco van Basten, having fallen out of favour with him in recent matches.
"If Edgar plays well for Spurs he will be considered for the national team again," Van Basten told The People.
"He is a player with vast international experience and if he is at the top of his game he will be welcome."
Davids, who arrived at Spurs from Inter Milan in the summer, has won 73 caps for his country.
