Tottenham defender Dean Richards has been told it is extremely unlikely that he has a brain tumour. He has been waiting for the results of a second scan after the first revealed an 'abnormality of the brain'.
"The report from the specialist confirmed that the likelihood of my having a brain tumour is extremely low," he told Tottenham's website.
"I remain very positive and will continue to carry out my duties as a Spurs player," said the 30-year-old.
Richards underwent an initial scan after complaining of headaches, dizzy spells and extreme fatigue after heading the ball in games towards the end of last season.
His problem was initially diagnosed as an inner-ear infection, until the first scan showed a brain abnormality.
"I have been overwhelmed with messages of goodwill and would like to thank everyone for their support," he said.
