Tottenham have released defender Mbulelo Mabizela by mutual agreement. The South African joined Spurs in August 2003 following a short trial after impressing for Orlando Pirates in a friendly against the club.
The 24-year-old scored on his Tottenham debut against Leicester last season, but made only nine appearances in total and has not featured this season.
Mabizela was stripped of the South Africa captaincy at the end of June after reporting late for training.
