Keane out for fortnight
Robbie Keane
Keane was carried off just before half-time
Spurs and Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane has been ruled out for at least two weeks with an ankle ligament injury.

Keane is likely to miss three Premiership games and Ireland's Euro 2004 qualifier against Russia on 6 September, due to the knock he picked up during his country's victory against Australia.

Tottenham boss Glenn Hoddle said: "He (Keane) will be out for at least two weeks and maybe more.

"It's not as bad as first feared but bad enough. I would think the next three games (for Spurs) and no international."

Keane will miss Spurs' Premiership matches against Leeds at White Hart Lane on Saturday, next Wednesday's meeting with Liverpool at Anfield, and Saturday week's home match against Fulham.

Hoddle is already without new signing Freddie Kanoute.

The French striker, a summer capture from West Ham, was injured in his first training session with his new club but is expected to be back in action soon.

And Bobby Zamora, another summer signing, had to pull out of this week's England Under-21 game with a thigh injury.

Defender Dean Richards is also recovering from an achilles injury which kept him out during the pre-season and he completed 90 minutes for Spurs reserves on Tuesday night.

Chris Perry and Ledley King also made their comebacks from injury during the same game.
