Hoddle hails Postiga signing
Spurs manager Glenn Hoddle and new signing Helder Postiga
Hoddle is predicting a bright future for Postiga
Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle promised more new faces at White Hart Lane after completing a 6.25m deal for Porto striker Helder Postiga.

The 20-year-old Portugal international was unveiled at White Hart Lane on Thursday.

And a delighted Hoddle predicted Postiga, virtually unheard of outside his own country, would be a "massive" star in the future.

"It has been a fantastic signing for us," said Hoddle.

"He is one of the brightest prospects in Europe, and it bodes well for the future of Tottenham.

"It is a very positive step in the right direction. This is a fantastic first signing for the club this summer, and we are going to make sure we back it up with other signings."

HAVE YOUR SAY

Postiga has agreed a five-year deal which could be worth up to 8.25m depending on appearances and Spurs' achievements.

But he admitted he knew very little of his new team-mates.

When asked who his favourite Spurs player was, he simply laughed.

But Postiga, speaking through an interpreter, added: "I believe in my worth and I hope to be successful here. I just want to do my best for the team.
