Torquay United midfielder Saul Halpin has signed a three-year contact extension with the League Two club.

The 18-year-old product of the Gulls academy signed professional terms at Plainmoor last season but is yet to make a first-team appearance.

Torquay boss Paul Buckle told the club's website: "Saul is now committed to the club.

"The special thing about Saul is his age. He has come back to training looking very bright."

Buckle added: "He can go past people and has already upset a few of the senior players."
