Hill could break Torquay's appearance record by the end of the season
Torquay United midfielder Kevin Hill will equal the club's all-time appearances record if he plays against Crawley Town on Saturday.
The Gulls legend, who has been with the club since 1997, will equal wing-half Dennis Lewis' mark of 474 appearances, set in the 1950's.
Hill has been a substitute in recent games and told BBC Radio Devon he wants no favours from manager Paul Buckle.
"I hope he puts what he thinks is his best side out."
Hill has spent his entire professional career at Torquay since joining them from non-league Torrington Town in 1997 and the Thirty-year-old is putting the team's play-off hopes ahead of his own personal record.
"I know I've come on in the last couple of games in the last couple of minutes to get some appearances, but the main thing is that you want to go into the play-offs with a win"
Hill passed the 400 appearances mark in February 2006 and if he appears against Crawley on Saturday and in either of Torquay's play-off matches he will break the record.
