Torquay director of football Colin Lee has appointed Keith Curle as head coach until the end of the season. Curle, 43, played for Torquay between November 1983 and March 1984, and later was the captain at Wolves when Lee was in charge at Molineux.
"I have had hundreds of calls from people wanting to come in but Keith was always my first choice," said Lee.
"He is the front runner for the job for next season as he is here and going to start working with the players."
Curle has previously managed Mansfield Town and Chester City.
He was sacked by Chester in February 2006 but then in August, won undisclosed damages from Mansfield for his sacking by them in December 2004.
