Swindon boss Paul Sturrock has welcomed the appointment of David Byrne as the club's new youth team manager. Sturrock said: "David and I have the same views and the youth system is a high priority for us.
"He is a highly qualified coach and is an assessor for the south west in terms of bringing coaches on - I've known him a long time and he'll do well."
Byrne, who also coached Plymouth Argyle U15s, leaves his post as director of football at Plymouth College.
