Roberts is unlikely to play while he is at Sporting Chance |
Swindon striker Christian Roberts will spend 28 days at the Sporting Chance Clinic to receive treatment for an alcohol problem. Roberts, 26, will check into the Hampshire clinic on Monday and is unlikely to play for Town in the time he is there.
Swindon boss Iffy Onuora said: "I admire Christian for facing up to his problems and seeking help.
"I'm sure he'll benefit from his time with Sporting Chance."
Roberts went for an assessment at Sporting Chance last Friday and it was decided he should check into the clinic.
Sporting Chance chief executive Peter Kay said: "Christian has been dealing with this problem for over a year and it's at this stage he feels his life has become unmanageable.
"Christian has also thanked the PFA for giving him their support and allowing him to come to Sporting Chance."
