Marvin Emnes scores his second goal in two Liberty Stadium appearances
Marvin Emnes admitted 'happiness' as his goal four minutes into his Swansea City debut inspired Brendan Rodgers' men to third in the Championship.
The on-loan attacker then turned provider as Emnes set up Scott Sinclair for his late strike against Leicester to become an Swans fans favourite.
"My first goal in my first game helped us take the three points and I think I made the fans happy," said sub Emnes.
"I was pleased to come on and hopefully I can do more of the same or Swansea."
The on-loan Middlesbrough forward made an instant impression on his Swans bow after replacing Stephen Dobbie at half-time against Leicester City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
Swans boss Brendan Rodgers praises Marvin Emnes' impact
Emnes out-muscled covering Foxes defender Curtis Davies to power a 20-yard shot under visiting keeper Chris Weale in the 49th minute.
That strike was just the 22-year-old's second league goal in English football since arriving here in a £3.2m move from Sparta Rotterdam - and ironically the other was at the Liberty Stadium against Swansea for Boro in a 3-0 win last season.
The former Dutch under-21 international then played a part in the build-up when Sinclair fired Angel Rangel's cross against the underside of the crossbar.
Then in added-on time at the end of the game, Emnes beat Jack Hobbs for pace down the right-flank to square for Sinclair as the former Chelsea winger poked home his 10th goal of the season.
"The manager told me to go and enjoy myself as a central striker and I did," he said after his debut.
"He wanted me to use my pace and power and score goals and I tried to help the team. It was a hard game but we played the best and kept the ball well.
"I was pleased with my goal, it was a good strike."
Rodgers was pleased that his newest loan-signing, on a month-long loan deal from Championship rivals Middlesbrough, made an instant impact.
"I felt with Marvin's movement, touch and pace to get down the sides and run towards goals would cause Leicester problems," said the Swansea boss.
"He made a massive impact to come in and do that in his first game. It was very, very good."
Rodgers was also pleased as Swansea continued their exceptional defensive at the Liberty Stadium with their seventh clean sheet in eight home games on Saturday.
And Emnes helped Swansea extend an unbeaten home record that stretches back to 16 March.
Now the Dutchman might extend his loan stay in south Wales as he revealed to BBC Sport: "If I can play more games here then why not stay longer - I just want to enjoy myself.
"Swansea have a very strong team and deserve to be third but whether I stay is up to Middlesbrough and if Swansea want me to stay."
