Wales Under-21 defender Daniel Alfei has signed a one-year professional deal with Swansea City after graduating from the club's centre of excellence.

The 18-year-old joined the south Wales club four years ago after impressing for local sides Dunvant and West End.

"There's no better feeling than signing for your hometown club," Alfei told the club website.

"I grew up supporting the team from the stands so to be given a professional contract is a dream come true."

Alfei is primarily a full-back but had also proved himself capable at the heart of defence.
