Gary Monk shows his disappointment after being held by Doncaster
Swansea City skipper Garry Monk admits the possibility of losing star players to the Premier League is a "massive worry" for the club.
Missing out on a Championship play-off spot has led to fresh speculation over the likes of Darren Pratley, Ashley Williams and Leon Britton's futures.
"It's a massive worry. I'm concerned for the club, concerned for the team," defender Monk said.
Monk also says the Swans' power-brokers must strengthen the playing squad.
The Swans missed out on the final Championship weekend as they drew 0-0 against Doncaster at the Liberty Stadium while Blackpool drew 1-1 against Bristol City.
A win would have been enough for the Swans to retake a play-off spot, but the lack of a goal-scoring threat that has hampered them all season again haunted them.
Midfielder Britton is deemed most likely to depart as he is is out of contract and could end his seven-year stay to fulfil his Premier League ambitions, with Wigan his most likely destination.
Influential midfielder Pratley - a target for Nottingham Forest - defender Angel Rangel, who has interested Fulham, and fellow defender Williams could also leave.
Youngster Joe Allen is another who could be targeted in the coming months.
Monk admits such departures are possible, adding: "I want to keep progressing every year.
"I'm going to be here next year so I want the team to be as strong as possible and I'm sure all the boys that are here next year want it to be as well.
"But you can't help these linkages. It shows how well they've done this season. They deserve that link and deserve to play in the Premier League.
"But I'd rather it would have been with us, but we'll have to wait and see. You'll have to ask the chairman [Huw Jenkins] and manager [Paulo Sousa].
"It's in their hands whether to try and keep them or what happens. So fingers crossed we can keep those players because they are massive for us.
"Yes it's an achievement to finish where we did, but we want more than just surviving and just doing well.
"We want to be in the play-offs and fighting to get in the Premier League. That's the dream. That's what we've all been fighting for all season.
It's vitally important that the chairman and the manager bring in the right people and we strengthen the squad properly
Swansea captain Garry Monk
"All along the effort and commitment's been massive. The character in the squad's massive and I think we deserve a lot, lot better than we've had this season.
"This is a massive summer for the club for the board and the chairman. I think they have to make the right decisions now and do the correct things - and the manger.
"If they do the correct things, if we do lose a couple of players or whatever, we make sure we bring in the right players. It's crucial that we strengthen.
"It's vitally important that the chairman and the manager bring in the right people and we strengthen the squad properly."
