Swansea City start a new chapter in their history under the leadership of Paulo Sousa, following the summer departure of manager Roberto Martinez to Wigan.
Two-time Champions League winner Sousa is a bit of an unknown quantity in terms of management.
It would be unfair to judge him on his five months at Queens Park Rangers last season.
So this will be a real test for the former Portugal international who has a massive task of filling the boots left by Martinez.
Fortunately for Sousa, playing a similar brand of football to Martinez means it has been quicker for the players to adapt to his style and on top of that, he has suffered just the one key departure.
Top scorer Jason Scotland has followed Martinez to Wigan in a £2m move, and while Sousa is looking to bring a new frontman in, he is keen that the burden of scoring goals does not lie with one player.
Up front, Sousa already has new signing Stephen Dobbie and Gorka Pintado at his disposal along with Guillem Bauza.
Swansea's midfield is also missing a key player - Jordi Gomez left at the end of his loan spell and later joined Wigan.
But Sousa has brought in Jordi Lopez as his replacement in a midfield that still boasts the strength of last season including Leon Britton, Joe Allen and Darren Pratley, while Ferrie Bodde has yet to return from injury - assuming he stays.
Winger Mark Gower seems to have found his goal-scoring touch in pre-season and Nathan Dyer on the other side has looked lively since completing his permanent switch to the Liberty Stadium from Southampton.
Martinez left Swans fans angry and stunned
While Swansea have a strong defence, they have been susceptible to being caught out at times and it is another area Sousa is looking to strengthen.
Angel Rangel, Alan Tate, captain Garry Monk and Ashley Williams are likely to be first-choice defenders in the meantime, although Marcos Painter's return from injury will see him challenge Tate for that left-back spot.
While expectancy will be high for success, Swansea fans should be realistic about their team's fortunes this season.
There may have only been a couple of departures, but they have been significant, most notably the manager.
There is no reason why the Swans cannot challenge for a play-off spot, but there should not be too much disappointment with a top-half finish in what is going to be an extremely competitive Championship this season.
