Espanyol B 2-0 Swansea City

Swansea City

A second-half Ashley Williams own goal helped Swansea to lose their first game under new manager Paulo Sousa, against Espanyol's second string in Palamos.

After 58 minutes substitute Lucas Porcir's cross found Williams at the back post and his attempted clearance was deflected into the net.

Juanjo was sent off late on for a two-footed tackle on Shaun MacDonald.

But by then Javi Lopez' cross had been sent home by Marc Pedraza for Sousa's side to rue their missed chances.

Swansea: Dorus de Vries (David Cornell, 79), Matty Collins (Jazz Richards, 71), Garry Monk (Fernando, 63), Ashley Williams, Alan Tate (Fede Bessone, 72), Leon Britton (Andrea Orlandi, 63), Joe Allen, Shaun MacDonald, Mark Gower (Guillem Bauza, 78), Nathan Dyer (Casey Thomas, 72), Gorka Pintado (Stephen Dobbie, 63).
Subs not used: Chad Bond, Kerry Morgan, Pedro Rodrigues.
