Boss Roberto Martinez says a play-off spot is within Swansea's grasp
Boss Roberto Martinez has demanded 22 points from Swansea City's remaining 11 games to secure a play-off spot and a chance to win Premier League promotion.
That task begins at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, who have found recent good form in their relegation battle.
"I think between 72 and 75 points is definitely going to give you the play-off spot," Martinez told BBC Sport.
"I would rather arrive there late and sneak in rather than to stay there all season and drop out in the last game."
Swansea currently sit ninth in the Championship table, three points and three places outside the play-off zone.
Forest, under the stewardship of Billy Davies - who managed Martinez during their Motherwell days - are three points above the relegation places.
But the former European champions have taken maximum points from their last two games against Swansea's promotion rivals Preston and Reading.
Swansea, meanwhile, have drawn against bottom club Charlton and Derby in the same period.
Forest have also been bolstered by the loan signing of Birmingham City striker Gary McSheffrey this week, who is set to make his debut against the Swans.
"They've got a lot of pace up front, obviously Paul Anderson and Rob Earnshaw and now [Gary] McSheffrey," Martinez added.
"They come in on the back of two very good results against Preston and Reading and that gives you a lot of confidence.
"But we go in with the mentality of trying to win a football game where it could give us three massive points.
"I expect it to be an open game, a really, really exciting game as Derby was."
Wales striker Earnshaw has scored three goals in the past three games.
That good form that could see him return to favour when national boss John Toshack announces his squad on 16 March for crucial World Cup qualifying matches against Finland and Germany.
But Swansea midfielder Owain Tudur Jones is sure that his supporters will not give the former Cardiff striker an easy ride at the City Ground on Saturday.
"I think Rob will have a bit of stick from the Swansea fans but with the match being at Forest he'll have more supporters wanting him to score," Jones said.
"Earnie is bang on form and has scored a good few goals recently, so we must keep a careful eye on him.
"While I hope he is in form for Wales duty in a few weeks time, I certainly don't want him to play well on Saturday.
"With [Wales captain and Manchester City striker] Craig Bellamy struggling with an injury, Rob will be wanting to show John Toshack there is back-up if our top players are out.
"And when Earnie plays well he is certainly a threat and is always likely to score goals."
