Swansea striker Daryl Duffy celebrates his goal against Carlisle |
Swansea City striker Darryl Duffy said he breathed a huge sigh of relief after ending his goal drought in Friday's 2-1 win over Carlisle. "I probably should have run into the net to get the ball back to the halfway line, but emotion took over," he said.
"I thought I'd done everything right in the first half with a header but the keeper pulled off a fantastic save.
"I thought it was going to be one of those nights again so I'm delighted to get off the mark for the season."
Duffy's goal on 81 minutes - his first in the league since 28 May, also against Carlisle - brought the Swans back level after Danny Graham's penalty had given the visitors the lead against the run of play.
The comeback was complete two minutes later when Anderson curled in the winner at the Liberty Stadium.

"It was so important to get the win," added Duffy, who signed permanently for Swansea this summer after a successful loan spell last season.
"It shoots up right up there - we're only three points behind [third-place] Carlisle now. It was vital to get the three points.
"We seemed to do it the hard way but we'll take the points however they come. We had a couple of chances in the first-half so we were a little bit disappointed not to be up at half-time.
"They hit us with a sucker punch at the start of the second half, but I thought we showed great character and belief in our own ability to come back and win the game."
Swansea manager Robert Martinez said he was delighted with the style of football his side played to secure their first home league win of the season.
"The performance was very pleasing and I thought the first half was the best we've played this season," said Martinez.
"I believe you always get your rewards in the long term and it took a very long 90 minutes to get the rewards.
"But the boys never lost their way, they kept believing and kept playing the way they need to and that was very pleasing.
"The fans got behind us and they really made a different on the pitch."
