Iriekpen must report back to the police next month |
Swansea City have decided to fine Izzy Iriekpen after his arrest in the city on Saturday, 11 November. Police took the Nigerian defender, 24, into custody following an incident outside a nightclub on the Kingsway.
Iriekpen was released on police bail and has been summoned to report back to the police on Thursday, 14 December.
"I'm disappointed that Izzy got himself in this situation and he will be fined by the club," Swansea manager Kenny Jackett confirmed.
"We'll have to wait and see exactly what the police do say... you don't want this type of thing as a manager."
Iriekpen had played earlier in the day in Swansea's 3-1 FA Cup first-round win away at Newport County.
Despite being disciplined by the club, Iriekpen may still keep his place in the Swansea team.
"I've got a couple of injury problems going into this weekend, so going to Port Vale and getting three points is another issue," Jackett said.
"At the moment with Izzy I'm disappointed, but we have to do our best to win football games."
