Leon Britton is back in favour at the Liberty Stadium

The 23-year-old thought he was on the way out last season before he agreed to sign a one-year deal in the summer.

Now he says he feels established in the first team and is happy to commit to the end of the 2007/8 season.

"I'm delighted, there's been a massive turnaround in six months and now I'm enjoying the football, the new stadium and the team success," said Britton.

"The club's moved on so much since I joined them. There's a good chance of reaching the Championship, we're moving forward, and I'm pleased to play a part.

"Last summer I didn't know if I'd get a contract, but I took a chance with the one-year deal.

"I waited to get in the team and then took my opportunity when Adrian Forbes got injured.

"I had a point to prove, but I always had belief in my ability if I got a run of games and now I feel like a regular."

Doubt still surrounds the Swansea future of midfielder and captain Roberto Martinez, whose contract expires in the summer.

"I want to spend my career here but you never know, the transfer window is a time of instability," said Martinez.
