Steve Bruce concerned over Titus Bramble injury

Bramble has already had a knee operation this season

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce fears central defender Titus Bramble's season could be over because of a knee injury.

Bramble, who underwent knee surgery at the end of last year, has suffered cartilage damage and missed his side's 5-0 loss at Manchester City.

"Bramble had an operation a few months ago and he has never felt quite comfortable," said Bruce.

"He had a scan the other day and could miss the rest of the season. We've been told [he needs] complete rest."

Bruce also revealed that striker Fraizer Campbell, who has not made a first-team appearance since August because of a knee injury, has suffered a setback in his recovery.

"Fraizer Campbell twisted his knee yesterday [Saturday] in training and he will have a scan.

"We are keeping our fingers crossed that it is not a recurrence of the knee injury that he had in August."
