Djibril Cisse was one player left disappointed by the West Ham defeat
Sunderland manager Roy Keane has warned his players that they must learn to cope with the pressure of expectation from fans at the Stadium of Light.
The Wearsiders have lost their last three home games since the derby defeat of Newcastle and Keane wants his side to rise to the challenge on home soil.
"There's pressure when you play at home," he told BBC Radio Newcastle.
"Expectations are high but if you want to play for a big club like Sunderland you have to be used to that."
Keane's side have four wins from 14 games in the Premier League, but seven defeats mean that they lie just outside the relegation zone in 17th place.
And the Irishman has urged his side to close out games in order to pick up points, even if it means sacrificing fighting for a win.
"When you look back on the last couple of home matches we've gone into the game thinking we can get something out of it," he said.
"I certainly think we haven't deserved to lose the game, there can be arguments about whether we deserved to win the game, but I certainly don't think we deserve to lose the game.
"What we've got to learn to do is, even on a day where we're not quite at it, is get a point."
