Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon is beginning to enjoy his football on Wearside after facing a tough start to life in the Premier League. The former Hearts keeper rates the top flight highly and admitted it has taken him time to adjust to the pace of the game in England.
He told BBC Radio Newcastle: "I can relate it to international football.
"The strikers are quicker, they can hit ball early and it's the whole package. There's not a bad team in the league."
The Scotland international has attracted attention for his displays in recent weeks but the 25-year-old refuses to get carried away with his performances.
"That's just part and parcel of being a goalkeeper and I'm quite happy with that, doing my job," he said.
"It's strikers who win games and if I can do my bit by keeping the team in with a chance of winning then I'm doing my job."
