Sunderland's youngsters progressed to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup after a 2-1 win over Macclesfield at the Stadium of Light.

Martyn Waghorn and Nathan Luscombe scored in the first half as the hosts dominated the match.

Macclesfield managed a late consolation but the result means Sunderland stretch their unbeaten run to six games.

The reward for Kevin Ball's young side is a home tie with Arsenal or Liverpool who meet on 29 January.
