 Russell Anderson will be sidelined for three months |
Sunderland have suffered an injury setback after Scotland defender Russell Anderson was ruled out for three months following ankle surgery. Anderson, 28, has had an operation to repair ligaments he damaged in Sunderland's Carling Cup defeat against Luton at Kenilworth Road last month.
He was one of Sunderland boss Roy Keane's summer signings, arriving in a �1m move from Aberdeen.
Anderson suffered the injury in his only start for Sunderland.
